Memory Hooks - 6 Ideas for Memorable Business
Wish that when someone needed a service that you were the one that came to mind?
A memory hook helps people to remember who you are and what you do. Here are some tips that make it easy to make a clever memory hook?
Networking expert Ivan Misner of BNI offers these tips for creating a great memory hook. (With some input from other sources..)
1) Appeal to the senses - See It, Hear It, Feel It -
“Travel with Me, travel Stress Free” - Travel agency
“Making Tangled Ideas into neat Solutions” - Cabeling Specilist
2) Use Humour - Make ‘Em Laugh, Make ‘Em Cry
“Making you look good between the Sheets” - Printer
“Let Me Shoot your Relatives” - Photographer
3) Create a Pun with your name or profession
“Accountants don’t have to be boring, Use Gorings”. - Accountants
“Dont get in to a Lather, call Larva” - Personal Assistant.
4) Use poems and rhymes
“If you want to Grow, see me for Cash Flow!” - Banker
5) Piracy or Parody - reworking familiar sayings or lyrics from songs
“Old bankers never die, they just lose interest” - Banker
“Everybody Needs To Be Kneaded!” - Baker
6) The Old Double Reverse - In the same sentence you phrase the first part, and then reverse it to make a different point.
“If it computes, we sell it; If it doesn’t, we fix it” - Computers
“A business without a sign is a sign of no business” - Signmakers
“Pleased to meet you, Meats to please you” - Butcher
