Positive Contributions

The BNI (and J25) policy regarding to ‘Positive Contributions’.

During the meeting, when the Chapter Director announces that “we have now arrived at the most important part of the meeting, the ‘Positive Contribution’ slot”, it is requested that ALL members begin by saying “My Positive Contribution this week is………..”

Then in order of priority:

1. I have (x number) of referrals

2. I have brought (x number of visitors)

3. I have a written testimonial for………… (Then read out the testimonial for other members and visitors to hear how you found the members’ services)

It is acknowledged that not everyone, every week, can bring one of the above; therefore, the Area Director has agreed that the following are also included as Positive Contributions:

4. I have attended a skills workshop (last week)

5. I have brought with me 5 (Five) completed Visitor Invitations (the Chapter will cover the cost of postage), which I will follow-up on this week, to try and encourage more visitors.

The latter (number 5), should really be the minimum Positive Contribution that a member brings each week, there is no reason why anyone comes empty-handed. If each member can do one of the above every week, week-in, week-out, then going forward it can only enhance and help us develop the Chapter, which will ensure that everyone has a decent supply of referrals and there is a constant stream of visitors and new members.

Please Note: It is encouraged that all members carry out one to ones on a regualar basis, however, as outlined above, these are NOT considered as Positive Contributions, but they will help develop a better understanding of fellow members’ businesses.

I hope you all have a fantastic week, and I look forward to seeing you again next Wednesday.
Dale Bywater
